chi-mir-122: Chi-mir-122 is a microRNA (miRNA) that is consistently highly expressed in various developmental stages of goat kids' livers, suggesting a stable and important role in liver development [PMC8784682]. This miRNA, along with others, showed no difference in expression across five developmental stages, indicating its significance in the liver development process [PMC8784682]. Additionally, chi-mir-122 has been identified to potentially interact with several circular RNAs (circRNAs) such as circRNA131, circRNA302, circRNA9787, and circRNA11661 [PMC6346991]. In the context of ovarian follicles' development in goats, chi-mir-122 is among the top differentially expressed miRNAs (DEmiRNAs) with a notable number of target genes in large follicles [PMC7106838]. However, its influence appears to be less prominent in small follicles as indicated by fewer miRNA–mRNA target pairs [PMC7106838]. Notably, discrepancies between RNA-SEQ and qPCR results for chi-mir-122 expression at 90 days suggest individual variability among goats; despite this variability, the overall expression trend for chi-mir-122 remains down-regulated [PMC8990838].
