bta-miR-135a: Bta-mir-135a is a microRNA (miRNA) that has been studied in various contexts. The nucleotide sequences of bta-mir-135a are fully complementary to 13 mRNAs of human genes [PMC8787201]. Humans also have a number of identical miRNAs for bta-mir-135a [PMC8787201]. Bta-mir-135a has been detected in bovine milk and colostrum [PMC8787201]. In the context of bovine mammary glands, bta-mir-135a expression was altered in response to Streptococcus agalactiae-induced mastitis and Staphylococcus aureus infection [PMC6008395]. In cattleyak, the downregulation of bta-mir-135a was associated with decreased number of spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs) and spermatogenic alterations [PMC5766512]. Bta-mir-135a has also been found to have putative target genes such as zinc finger family genes, CSPP1, and CUBN [PMC5766512]. Additionally, bta-mir-135a may play a role in mammary gland development and mammary epithelial cell proliferation [PMC5908868]. It is worth noting that there are other miRNAs that have been studied alongside bta-mir-135a in various contexts such as miR-136, miR-432, miR-127, miR-431, and miR-433 [PMC6008395]. These studies highlight the potential importance of bta-mir-135a in different biological processes.
