eca-mir-23a: Eca-mir-23a is a downregulated microRNA in iPSCs compared to control cells [PMC6525926]. In a study analyzing different time points, eca-mir-23a was found to be differentially expressed in plasma and SF-derived EVs [PMC9393553]. This miRNA has also been identified as differentially expressed in SF derived from horses and humans with osteoarthritis (OA) [PMC9393553]. Additionally, eca-mir-23a was found to be increased in equine early OA SF and late vs. early human OA SF [PMC9393553]. Eca-mir-23a, along with six other miRNAs (eca-miR-451, eca-miR-25, eca-miR-215, eca-miR-92a, eca-miR-let-7c, and eca-miR-486-5p), as well as four snoRNAs (U3, snord15, snord46, and snord58), were identified as potential molecules for future studies [PMC9393553]. Eca-mir-215 and ecalet7-c were also identified in a study isolating sncRNAs from SF [PMC9393553]. Furthermore, the presence of ecamir24 -1 and ecamir -23a was detected in regions of no ROH presence across five breeds [PMC9736150].
