ssc-mir-144: Ssc-mir-144 is a microRNA that has been studied in relation to various diseases and conditions in swine. In a study, it was found that ssc-mir-144 showed a tendency for upregulation in the STH2-warm group, which was associated with a reduction in CK-MB levels [PMC7236010]. Ssc-mir-144 has also been indicated as an inhibitor of the anti-viral response to influenza, another major viral respiratory disease that affects swine [PMC6687759]. In another study, ssc-mir-144 was specifically expressed in the low-FE group of pigs [PMC9039951]. It was also found to be differentially expressed at different time points in M pig [PMC4890935]. Ssc-mir-144 showed stable expression at 1W and decreased expression at 2W [PMC8367414]. It was found to be upregulated in all infected samples [PMC6354428]. The expression of ssc-mir-144 was validated by quantitative PCR [PMC7903524]. However, it showed no obvious change after LPS stimulation in PBMCs [PMC7903524]. Ssc-mir-144 has also been associated with the regulation of cholesterol metabolism through its targeted control of the ABCA1 gene [PMC9859024]. Additionally, low expression levels of ssc-mir-144 have been linked to adipogenesis along with other miRNAs such as ssc-miR-758 and ssc-miR-122 [PMC9859024].
